Cultural Awareness
День защитника Украины (vs. День защитника отечества в России)

On 14 October 2014, a decree by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko decreed the new holiday "Defender of Ukraine Day" due to the Russian military intervention in Ukraine (2014–present) and decommunization in Ukraine. This decree was approved by the Ukrainian parliament on 5 March 2015.  The holiday replaced the former 23 February's holiday called "Defender of the Fatherland Day", which had its origin in the Soviet Union. As the Ukrainian SSR, Ukraine was part of the Soviet Union from 1922 until Ukraine declared its independence from the Soviet Union on 24 August 1991. On 24 August 2014 (Independence Day of Ukraine) President Poroshenko had proclaimed that Ukraine should not celebrate the holidays of the "military-historical calendar of Russia" but "We will honor the defenders of our homeland, not someone else's".

On 14 July 2021, the parliament officially altered the name of the holiday to its current form in Ukrainian: День захисників і захисниць України, explicitly to include the female defenders of Ukraine (in Ukrainian grammar захисників is the masculine form of the word defender and захисниць the feminine form).
Fourteen October is also the Day of the Ukrainian Cossacks.

Парк Горького в Москве
Вот сайт этого парка https://www.park-gorkogo.com/

Gorky Central Park of Culture and Leisure is a central park in Moscow, named after Maxim Gorky. In August 2018, the Park's 90th anniversary was celebrated.  Gorky Park is located at Krymsky Val and situated just across the Moskva River from Park Kultury Metro station. The park opened in 1928. It was planed by Konstantin Melnikov, a widely known Soviet avant-garde and constructivist architect. In 2011 Gorky Park underwent a major reconstruction. New director of Central Park of Culture and Leisure  demolished approximately 100 attractions and illegal objects. More than two thousand square meters of new asphalt surface was laid on the site of demolished objects and 1.9 ha of new lawns and flowerbeds were laid out. All amusement rides but one, a two deck carousel, have been removed in order to transform the place into a recreational zone. Abandoned buildings, carts, tents, advertising structures and attractions were cleaned in the process. Renovation of monuments, cleaning the ponds and delivering soil and grass turf was started. Gorky Park was transformed in several months, becoming the first Russian park that could now compete with the leading parks of the world. A 15,000 square meter ice rink, with separate zones for children, hockey, dancing, and general skating, was officially opened in December 2011.
